The rest
The web companion
Your agents on a phone, served by the desktop app, over your own network.
The companion is a web app your copy of Pragma serves. Open it on a phone and you get the roster, the conversations, and the ability to reply while the desktop keeps doing the work.
There is no app to install and no account to make. There is also no server of ours in the path: the phone talks to your computer.
Turning it on
- On the desktop, open Settings, then Companion.
- Switch it on. Pragma shows a link and a QR code.
- Scan the code with the phone's camera, or open the link.
The phone has to be able to reach the computer, so the usual case is both on the same network. Pragma does not punch a hole through your router, and it does not relay through anything of ours.
What works on the phone
- The full roster, and every conversation in it.
- Sending messages, and watching replies stream in.
- Images in the transcript, opened full-screen.
- Scrolling back through older messages.
- Approvals, so you are not stuck at your desk when an agent asks.
What does not
Anything that needs the desktop: engine settings, the computer panel and its viewer, skill recording, and the file system.
If the desktop is asleep
Nothing works. The companion is a window onto a running copy of Pragma, so if the computer is off, asleep, or has Pragma closed, the phone has nothing to talk to. This is the same reason routines do not fire when the app is closed.
The mobile app
There was an iOS companion. It was written, tested, and never distributed, because there was no way to install it, so it was removed rather than left as a maintenance cost with no users. The web companion is what ships, and it works the same on iPhone and Android because it is just a page.
